My girlfriend’s son, David has been taking karate lessons for about a year. He is 7 years old and is progressing well. Every Wednesday night he learns something new that he wants to try out on me. Throws, holds , striking, he does it all quite well for his age. When he first started, Katie didn’t think he would stick with it but he certainly has. He’s now begun expressing interest in pro wrestling and mixed martial arts. I think it’s great. I was on the wrestling team in high school and later had a short stint as a professional wrestler.

His dojo has all the necessary training gear, but he doesn’t have much to work with at home. Surfing through the web, I found a great site for Martial Arts Gear . Asian World of Martial Arts Inc. has everything he could ever need and then some. They carry everything from uniforms to workout equipment and even instructional books and DVD’s. AWMA also carries a full line of Mixed Martial Arts and boxing gear as well. Just a little while ago, I ordered some breakable boards boards for him. I think he’ll love them.
He wants a wrestling ring but he’s going to have to wait a few years and continue showing interest before I shell out that kind of money and give up my garage.

It’s true, I’m a big kid. I have no need to apologize for this because as they say, “You’re only as young as you feel.” I feel much younger than my age. If I never had to work another day in my life, I would spend most of my time traveling the country touring amusement parks. I do this pretty often anyway. I can’t get enough rollercoasters. Up until 2 years ago I had ridden the tallest and fastest that the U.S. has to offer, then Six Flags in New Jersey broke the record again with Kingda Ka. As it stands Kingda Ka is the tallest and fastest coaster in the world and I must ride it. At a dizzying 456 ft high and reaching a top speed of 128mph It looks incredible! Owning a small business, it can be difficult to get the word out about your products or services. Unless you have a huge advertising budget (witch I don’t) it can be tough to find cost effective advertising. The phone book and the web are a necessity. I’ve found that radio and television ads can be very expensive for 30 seconds of exposure to people who simply are not interested. The best way that I’ve found is merchandising. The first thing most people thing when I say this is t-shirts, but who’s going to wear a t-shirt advertising a DJ to do anything but cut the grass in on Sunday afternoon? Nobody.
I’ve found that putting my logo on give-away toys and trinkets much more effective. When this idea was first pitched to me, I had a hard time finding a company to make these items for me. That’s because I didn’t know there was a proper name for this stuff to search for. They are called trade show items
Rubber balls, yo-yo’s, key chains, and frisbee’s are all great and inexpensive ways to promote your business. Even if your potential clients don’t use them, they will probably give theese toys to their children who will. Mission accomplished, you have just put your logo and business information in their home and they will see it often. Thus be more likely to remember you.
This method has worked extremely well for me and I suggest anyone else in a similar situation give it a try. Gimmees.com has a huge selection of novelties for all of your marketing needs.

Iron Man hits theaters on May 2nd. The character is super strong because of his suit of iron. You should also remember the exoskeleton used in Alien. The real-life version is the work of software engineer Rex Jameson and his robotics company Sarcos. The XOS Exoskeleton moves well and gives the wearer superhuman strength. Sensors in the suit transmit information to a computer and coordinates its moves, so the wearer experiences no lag and no fatigue. The XOS takes up somewhat more room than Iron Man’s suit, but is a lot smaller than the contraption in Alien -with as much strength and more features. Jameson is now working under a $10 million US military grant. See a video of the XOS in action.
No word yet on that time machine.
